What is Connectinc.?

Answer: Connectinc. is a new non-profit organization developed out of the need to expand the services rendered by the Work Central Career Advancement Center.

What is Work Central?

Answer: Work Central provides technology-supported case management and resource information to assist former welfare clients as they find, keep, and move up in employment. At the core of this service is a highly technological communication system headquartered in Rocky Mount, North Carolina and serving Scotland, Wilson, Wayne, Martin, Halifax, Nash, Edgecombe, Alamance and Washington Counties. This enables Work Central representatives while communicating with customers to access online information about both the customers and the resources available to support them.

Who can participate in the Work Central program?

Answer: Any low-income family that is in need of our services in the areas of re-employment, job retention, career advancement and asset accumulation.

What are the hours of operation for Work Central?

Answer: Work Central is open Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 8:00PM and on Saturday from 9:00AM to 5:00PM.

What counties do you serve?

Answer: We serve Alamance, Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Edgecombe, Halifax, Martin, Mitchell, Nash, Scotland, Washington, Watauga, Wayne, Wilkes, Wilson and Yancey.

How do I become a partner?

Answer: Connectinc. is always looking for new partners. To become a partner, you can either call Connectinc. and speak with the Connectinc. President Jackie Savage or you can go to the Partners page on this website.

How are you funded?

Answer: Connectinc. operates by State Appropriation, local county TANF funds, grants ( GoldenLEAF Foundation, Annie E. Casey Foundation, Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation) and donations (Microsoft).

*Connectinc. is presently receiving funds from the GoldenLEAF Foundation to assist individuals who have been displaced by the decline in the tobacco industry.
