What is A.C.E. and who is eligible?
The overall mission of A.C.E. is to improve the standard of living for women in low income situations thereby strengthening families, the local economy and the community at large. To be eligible, an individual must either be unemployed or underemployed and live in Bertie, Gates, Halifax, Hartford, Northampton, Nash or Edgecombe County. A.C.E. is a pathway to help individuals get on their feet and stay on their feet in a good job with benefits and wages sufficient to support the needs of the individual and their family.
What job opportunities are available?
Based on the foreseeable employment needs within these communities, the A.C.E. program will play an important part in developing a workforce for job opportunities in:
Construction - Truck Driving - Healthcare - Hospitality - Customer Service - Retail Service
To prepare workers for these jobs, short-term training opportunities will be made readily available that are offered frequently and at convenient site locations.
